Advanced Poker Training Releases The Upper Hand

The popular poker training site Advanced Poker Training is constantly adding new features to provide more value and entertainment to its customers.  This week, Advanced Poker Training released a great new feature called The Upper Hand.

What this feature does is give you a starting hand and a board, and you need to decide which of the nine starting hands listed have better odds to win than your hand.  Once you've made your selection, you can see if you were correct and see the odds each hand has of winning against your hand.

Getting started is easy.  You can choose among unlimited hands, a fixed number of hands, and a timed game.  I preferred the timed game since it kept me on my toes to make quick decisions, which I felt improved my perception of hands and boards.  You might prefer one of the other two options, which are more than fine considering in a live game of poker you typically have time to make a decision.

Once you have played all of the hands or time ran out, you can see your results, which show the number of correct answers you got, your accuracy percentage, your score, and the average time per correct answer.  At this point, you will also be able to choose to play again, review your incorrect answers, or take a look at your all-time statistics.

The game features cool rock and roll music while you are playing, but if you find that distracting, you can turn it off by heading to the "Settings" screen before you play.  Other settings include turning on or off the sound entirely and deciding whether to use typical starting hands.

Additionally, you can decide to how many board cards you want dealt, with options for zero, three, four, or five.  You can also choose to keep this on random, which is the default setting that I also preferred when playing around with this new feature.  Lastly, you can choose a progressive option that increases the number of board cards as you play.

The last setting is the difficulty level, with choices for easy, medium, and hard.  The default is medium, which is a great place to start.  However, if you find this too difficult, I recommend switching up to the easy level and likewise if this is too easy, I recommend the next time you play to choose the hard difficulty level.

The Upper Hand is only available at Advanced Poker Training.  You can check it out risk-free since it has a 30-day money-back guarantee.  Plans are inexpensively priced and you can use the code “POKERSOFTWARE” to get a six-month membership for $79.97, which is $20 off the list price of $99.97, or $119.97 for a full year, which is $30 off the list price of $149.97.
